The transportation authority for Sao Paulo, SPTrans, received the distinguished prize of "Best Projects of 2009" from the Sao Paulo Engineering Institute for the paper titled "Monorail Jardim Ângela - Santo Amaro:  Introduction of a New Medium-Capacity System in Sao Paulo".

This project to improve urban mobility with a medium capacity transit system, together with a regional development instrument for the southwest region of Sao Paulo, has a substantial participation by NIPPON KOEI as the main project consultant on this JICA-funded study.
